The San Mateo County Sheriff’s Office deputies were injured while trying to arrest suspects attempting to steal a woman’s car. The incident took place near a CVS store in San Carlos Ave. The suspects resisted arrest by punching and kicking the deputies, who called for backup before eventually arresting the suspects. Two deputies were briefly hospitalized for minor injuries, while a third was treated at the scene. The suspects, identified as 25-year-old Danny A. Nigsiqies and 27-year-old Edgar E. Nigsiguiej, were booked into the Maguire Correctional Facility. The investigation is ongoing, and anyone with information is encouraged to contact Detective David Brandt.

The Incident in San Mateo County
Two deputies in San Mateo County found themselves in a dangerous situation on Wednesday night when they attempted to arrest two suspects involved in an attempted car theft. The incident took place near the CVS store located in the 1300 block of San Carlos Ave. The victim had reported her keys stolen outside the store earlier in the day, and when the suspects returned to steal her car, the deputies were called to intervene.
Confrontation with Suspects
Upon arriving at the scene, the deputies identified two individuals matching the description provided by the victim. As they tried to detain the suspects, a physical altercation ensued. The suspects resisted arrest by assaulting the deputies, leading to a scuffle that resulted in injuries to the law enforcement officers. Additional deputies were called to the scene to assist in the arrest of the suspects.
Arrest and Charges
The suspects, identified as Danny A. Nigsiqies, 25, from San Carlos, and Edgar E. Nigsiguiej, 27, from Morgan Hill, were taken into custody and booked into the Maguire Correctional Facility. Danny A. Nigsiqies is facing charges of felony battery on a peace officer and felony assault on an officer, while Edgar E. Nigsiguiej has been charged with felony assault on an officer and possession of a controlled substance.

Fortunately, all three deputies involved in the incident are expected to make a full recovery from their injuries. The investigation into the attempted car theft and assault on the deputies is ongoing.
