Arkansas State Police (ASP) is seeking information about a fatal hit-and-run in Hempstead County that claimed the life of Cameron Evans, a 33-year-old man from Texarkana, Texas. The incident occurred on Interstate 30 Westbound near Hope on May 27, 2024. Witnesses reported seeing Evans walking away from a store in Hope before his body was found on the roadside. ASP urges anyone who traveled on I-30 in the area that night to come forward with information about the suspect vehicle. Arkansas State Police (ASP) is reaching out to the public for assistance in a tragic hit-and-run incident that resulted in the death of a man from Texarkana, Texas. The incident occurred on Monday, May 27, 2024, at approximately 12:35 a.m. near Hope on Interstate 30 Westbound in Hempstead County.
The victim, identified as Cameron Evans, 33, was found unresponsive on the shoulder of the road and was pronounced dead at the scene by the Hempstead County Coroner. Witnesses reported that Evans was last seen walking away from a store in Hope before the tragic incident took place.
Evans’ body will be transported to the Arkansas State Crime Laboratory for further examination and investigation. ASP’s Criminal Investigation Division is urging anyone who may have been traveling on I-30 in Hempstead County near Hope overnight on Sunday, May 26, into Monday morning, May 27, to come forward if they witnessed anything unusual or have any information about a suspect vehicle.
