CHENNAI: Arrests Made in Connection with Murder Case

Two individuals, including a female police inspector, have been apprehended in relation to the killing of a 60-year-old man in Srivilliputhur, a town located in the Virudhunagar district of Tamil Nadu.

The Victim and the Suspects

The deceased, identified as Ramar, hailed from Sathya Nagar in Srivilluputhur. Reports suggest that there was an ongoing feud between Ramar’s family and the family of the accused, Ramasamy, who reside in the same neighbourhood.

Details of the Incident

On May 21, a dispute erupted between the two families during a temple festival, leading to an altercation where Ramasamy and his sons viciously attacked Ramar, resulting in severe injuries. Ramar was rushed to Government Rajaji Hospital in Madurai for medical treatment.

Following the incident, Ramar’s wife lodged a complaint against the family members of the accused who were allegedly involved in the violent clash.

Arrests and Escapes

Tragically, Ramar succumbed to his injuries on May 25, prompting the authorities to elevate the case to a murder investigation. Subsequently, Ramasamy and his elder son Rajenthar were taken into custody.

However, the younger son of Ramasamy, Ramkumar, along with his partner, Sathyaseela – who serves as a police inspector in Ramanathapuram district – managed to evade capture. The duo fled to Bengaluru in an attempt to evade the authorities.

Apprehension of the Fugitives

Upon learning that law enforcement officers were closing in on them in Bengaluru, Ramkumar and Sathyaseela decided to flee to Goa. Before they could make their escape, the police successfully apprehended both individuals.

Following their capture, Sathyaseela and Ramkumar were presented before a court and are currently being held in Madurai jail as the investigation into the murder case continues.
