Illinois State Police (ISP) Division of Criminal Investigation Zone 8 has announced the arrest of 35-year-old Johnny E. Green of McLeansboro, IL for Aggravated Driving Under the Influence of Alcohol and Reckless Homicide. The arrest follows a fatal crash on County Road 70 North in Wayne County involving a Polaris Razor side-by-side. The front seat passenger was ejected from the vehicle and pronounced deceased on scene. Green, the driver of the Polaris Razor, has been charged and is currently held at the Wayne County Jail. Keenes, IL-(Effingham Radio)- Illinois State Police (ISP) Division of Criminal Investigation Zone 8 has reported a tragic incident in Keenes, Illinois, where 35-year-old Johnny E. Green of McLeansboro, IL, was arrested for Aggravated Driving Under the Influence of Alcohol and Reckless Homicide.
Details of the Accident
On May 24, 2024, ISP Troop 9 responded to a fatal crash involving a Polaris Razor side-by-side on County Road 70 North near County Road 425 East in Wayne County. The Polaris Razor was traveling westbound on County Road 70 North when it ran off the south edge of the roadway and rolled over. During the rollover, the front seat passenger was ejected from the vehicle and tragically pronounced deceased on the scene. Green was identified as the driver of the Polaris Razor.
Legal Action Taken
On May 29, 2024, the Wayne County State’s Attorney charged Green with Aggravated Driving Under the Influence of Alcohol and Reckless Homicide. He is currently being held at the Wayne County Jail pending further legal proceedings.
