A man tragically died in an accident in Liberal, Seward County just before 11 a.m. on Wednesday. The Kansas Highway Patrol reported that Tucker J. Smith, 26, was driving a Polaris UTV northbound when an occupant in the bed, Jacob G. Still, 29, fell out and sustained serious injuries. Still was rushed to Wesley Medical Center in Wichita but sadly passed away before 11:30 p.m. Smith and another passenger escaped unhurt. The incident occurred on Frontage Road near Seward County Community College. The authorities are investigating the circumstances surrounding the accident.

SEWARD COUNTY —A devastating accident occurred just before 11 a.m. on Wednesday in Liberal, Seward County. The incident took place in the 1800 Block of Frontage Road, only 50 feet north of the Cosmetology Building at Seward County Community College.
The Details of the Accident
According to the Kansas Highway Patrol, a Polaris UTV was being driven by Tucker J. Smith, a 26-year-old from Kismet. The UTV was traveling northbound on Frontage Road when tragedy struck. As the vehicle turned the corner to head east, an occupant in the bed of the UTV, identified as Jacob G. Still, a 29-year-old from Tyrone, Oklahoma, lost his balance and fell out.

Emergency Medical Services quickly arrived on the scene and transported Still to Wesley Medical Center in Wichita for treatment of his serious injury. Sadly, he was pronounced deceased just before 11:30 p.m. that same day. Smith and another passenger in the UTV were fortunate to escape without injury.
