The Pimpri-Chinchwad Police have initiated an “area domination” exercise to crack down on anti-social elements and nuisance-makers who frequent the city during late hours. In a bid to enhance patrolling, the police have deployed control room (CR) mobile vans accompanied by officers on bikes to increase visibility and surveillance during the night.
Recent Incidents:
Just recently, a 35-year-old man named Deepak Kadam was fatally shot by two unidentified assailants on a bike in the Sangvi area. Kadam, who had a criminal record, was attacked near the PWD Ground, with the police suspecting the incident to be a result of an ongoing feud. The police are currently on the lookout for the perpetrators.
Another tragic incident occurred when a 28-year-old man named Angad Giri was fatally struck by a speeding car while crossing a service road along the Pune-Bangalore highway in the Wakad area. The entire incident was captured on camera, leading to the identification and subsequent arrest of the 20-year-old driver, Vedant Rai.
In light of these recent events, the Pimpri-Chinchwad Police are leaving no stone unturned in their efforts to ensure the safety of the city’s residents. The “area domination” exercise is just one of the many initiatives being undertaken to curb crime and maintain law and order in the region.
