A 13-year-old boy has been charged with capital murder in connection to a fatal shooting that took place at 1307 Wilcrest Drive in Houston, Texas. The victim, identified as 18-year-old Bryan De La Cruz Chaparro, was found unresponsive in a vehicle with gunshot wounds. The juvenile suspect, whose identity remains undisclosed due to his age, is currently in custody and has been referred to the Harris County Juvenile Probation authorities. The Fatal Shooting in Houston, Texas
On February 17, tragedy struck at 1307 Wilcrest Drive in Houston, Texas, when a fatal shooting took place around 4:10 p.m. The victim of this senseless act of violence was identified as 18-year-old Bryan De La Cruz Chaparro. What makes this incident even more disturbing is the fact that the suspect behind this heinous crime is a 13-year-old male.
The Scene of the Crime
The shooting occurred in the parking lot of an apartment complex at the aforementioned address. When officers arrived at the scene, they found an unresponsive male in the driver’s seat of a vehicle, who had sustained at least one gunshot wound. Despite the efforts of paramedics, Chaparro was pronounced dead at the scene, leaving a community in shock.
A Robbery Gone Wrong
Further investigation by HPD Homicide Division Detectives N. Henderson and L. Patterson revealed that Chaparro was shot during a robbery. The 13-year-old suspect, whose identity remains undisclosed due to his age, was swiftly taken into custody by the Harris County Juvenile Probation authorities. It was only on Tuesday, May 28, that detectives formally charged the juvenile with capital murder in connection to this tragic incident.
