Montgomery County Police are currently investigating a fatal collision that took place on Sunday, May 19, in Silver Spring. The incident involved a 2018 Audi Q5 and a 2013 Honda CR-V at the intersection of University Boulevard East and Buckingham Drive. Sadly, the driver of the Honda, identified as 79-year-old Adolfo Cabrera, succumbed to his injuries and passed away on Tuesday, May 28, 2024. Montgomery County Police are investigating a tragic incident that occurred on Sunday, May 19, in Silver Spring, a vibrant community located in Montgomery County, Maryland.

At approximately 8:14 p.m., authorities responded to the intersection of University Boulevard East and Buckingham Drive for the report of a two-vehicle collision that shook the peaceful neighbourhood.

According to the preliminary investigation, the driver of a 2018 Audi Q5 was travelling eastbound on University Boulevard East when it collided with a 2013 Honda CR-V that was attempting to turn left from Buckingham Drive onto University Boulevard East, resulting in the Honda hitting a tree.

While the driver and three passengers of the Audi emerged unscathed, the adult male driver of the Honda, identified as 79-year-old Adolfo Cabrera, was transported to a local hospital with injuries initially thought to be non-life threatening.

Tragically, on Tuesday, May 28, 2024, Mr. Cabrera succumbed to his injuries and was pronounced dead at the hospital, leaving the community in mourning.
