Medical Emergency in Mughalrajapuram

Residents of Patamatvari Street in Mughalrajapuram were left reeling when Durga Rao fell ill and passed away after exhibiting symptoms of water contamination. His family members reported that he began vomiting and suffering from diarrhoea on Monday morning, prompting them to rush him to Vijayawada Government General Hospital. Eight others with similar symptoms have also been admitted for treatment.

Special Medical Camp Established

With a total of 24 people currently undergoing treatment at the hospital, authorities have set up a special medical camp in Mughalrajapuram to provide immediate assistance to those affected. Dr Suhasini, the NTR District Medical and Health Officer, is closely monitoring the situation at the camp and working to contain the spread of diarrhoea cases in the area.

Water Supply Disruption

In response to numerous complaints about contaminated water, officials have taken swift action to halt the water supply to the affected area. Drinking water is now being distributed via water tankers to ensure that residents have access to safe and clean water. Samples of water and stool have been collected for laboratory analysis to determine the source of the contamination.

Government General Hospital Response

The Government General Hospital (GGH) has taken proactive steps to address the crisis by establishing a dedicated 30-bed ward to accommodate individuals affected by the water contamination.
