The King County Prosecuting Attorney’s Office has charged two individuals, Ilyiss Mohamud Abdi and Salman S. Haji, with multiple felonies following a series of violent crimes that culminated in a fatal shooting on January 26, 2024.

According to reports, the defendants first stole a Porsche SUV and then drove to the Tukwila Costco. A struggle ensued, and Haji ultimately fired a shot, which tragically resulted in the death of one of the women, Mingyuan Huang.

Following the incident, defendant Haji fled the country, boarding an international flight and has not returned since. Defendant Abdi was arrested on May 16 in connection to a separate shooting that occurred in Kent on February 21, where a teenager was killed.
