A 14-year-old boy has been arrested for allegedly shooting his father, 39-year-old Joshua Lee Goldman, in Glendale, AZ. The incident occurred near 66th Avenue and Delmonico Lane, with Goldman succumbing to multiple gunshot wounds at a hospital shortly after. Court documents reveal that the victim’s daughter reported an argument between her and her father, leading to her brother shooting him. Both the victim’s father and daughter were present during the altercation but did not witness the shooting. The suspect fled the scene with a friend, captured on a Ring doorbell camera, before being apprehended by Arizona authorities in Kingman after a high-speed chase.

Tragic Incident in Glendale, AZ

GLENDALE, AZ (AZFamily) — A 14-year-old boy has been taken into custody after allegedly shooting his father, 39-year-old Joshua Lee Goldman, to death in a heartbreaking incident that took place at a home in Glendale on Tuesday afternoon.

The incident occurred just before 4 p.m. near 66th Avenue and Delmonico Lane, just south of Olive Avenue. Authorities responded to a call and found Goldman inside the home, suffering from multiple gunshot wounds. Despite being rushed to the hospital, he tragically passed away shortly after.

Details of the Tragic Event

According to court documents, the victim’s daughter revealed that she was in the midst of a heated argument with her father when her younger brother intervened and fired the fatal shots. The daughter indicated that the shooting took place on the other side of her closed door, shielding her from witnessing the heartbreaking incident.

Additionally, the victim’s father, who was present in another room, reported hearing the argument escalate followed by the sound of gunshots. However, he did not witness the actual shooting.

Both family members informed the authorities that the suspect, along with a friend, fled the scene immediately after the shooting. Surveillance footage from a Ring doorbell camera captured the suspect and his companion hastily leaving the premises, carrying bags. The friend could be heard asking, “did you get the gun?” to which the suspect responded affirmatively.

Subsequently, they were seen leaving in a Toyota Camry belonging to the victim.

Chase and Arrest

Investigators managed to track the stolen vehicle as it headed towards Las Vegas. The Arizona Department of Public Safety was promptly informed, leading to troopers spotting the car in Kingman around 7 p.m.

What followed was a high-speed chase, with speeds reaching up to 130 mph. Eventually, a trooper deployed a Grappler device to halt the fleeing car, resulting in the apprehension of both individuals.

Due to the suspect’s juvenile status, his identity has not been disclosed.
