Crossville Man Arrested for Waffle House Robbery

In a bizarre turn of events, Crossville police officers apprehended a man in connection with an alleged robbery at a Waffle House in the early hours of Tuesday morning. The incident took place at the Waffle House located on Executive Drive, sending shockwaves through the quiet town of Crossville, Tennessee.

According to the Crossville Police Department, witnesses reported that a man, later identified as 31-year-old Jonathan Beard, entered the establishment brandishing a knife and physically assaulted two employees before making off with a substantial sum of $388 in cash. The brazen robbery took place just before 1 a.m., leaving patrons and staff shaken.

Following the robbery, Beard fled towards a wooded area behind a nearby Marathon gas station, sparking a city-wide manhunt. It was later discovered that Beard had sought refuge in the Red Roof Inn, located just off North Main Street behind the gas station.

Law enforcement officers swiftly descended upon the motel, where they found Beard hiding in the attic. What ensued can only be described as a scene from a Hollywood action movie – Beard defiantly refused to surrender, throwing money at the officers as they attempted to apprehend him. The CPD officers had to resort to unconventional methods, including pepper spray, bean bags, and a taser, to extract Beard from his hiding place. In the chaos that followed, Beard crashed through the ceilings of three separate rooms, causing an estimated $30,000 in damages.
