Four persons tragically lost their lives and nine others were injured in a series of road accidents in Ghaziabad within a span of just 10 hours on Wednesday. The incidents serve as a stark reminder of the importance of road safety and the need for stricter enforcement of traffic rules.
The first incident occurred when a truck collided with another stationary truck on the DME near Crossings Republik around 12.25am. The collision resulted in the death of a 25-year-old man, identified as Feroz, who was a resident of Meerut. Additionally, nine others, including both drivers, sustained injuries in the crash. The accident occurred when a truck transporting potatoes from Meerut to Ghazipur Mandi in Delhi had a flat tire and was parked on the side of the road as the driver attempted to change the tire. Unfortunately, a speeding truck collided with the stationary truck from behind, resulting in the tragic outcome.
Following this incident, another man lost his life when he was crushed by a truck on GT road in Sahibabad around 12.30am. The victim has not yet been identified, and the driver of the truck fled the scene. In a separate incident later that morning, a 20-year-old man named Farhan was crushed to death by a truck on GT road while riding his motorcycle to Chaudhary Mor. Farhan, a resident of Gaur City in Greater Noida West, ran a nursery.
In the fourth and final incident, a cyclist was fatally struck by a truck driving on the wrong side of NH-9 around 8.20am on Wednesday. The truck driver fled the scene, leaving the victim’s identity unknown. These incidents highlight the dangers of reckless driving and the devastating consequences it can have on innocent lives.
