Passenger Dies After Jumping Overboard from World’s Largest Cruise Ship

A tragic incident occurred on the world‘s largest cruise ship as a passenger lost his life after jumping overboard. The male passenger, whose identity remains unknown, reportedly jumped from the 20-deck high Icon of the Seas after it departed from a port in Florida. The ship was on its way to a seven-day cruise around the Caribbean, with its first stop scheduled in Honduras.

The Coast Guard was involved in the search and rescue operation after the passenger jumped overboard. The Cruise ship deployed a rescue boat, located the man, and brought him back onboard. Unfortunately, the man was pronounced deceased by the Coast Guard.

The incident took place approximately 300 miles away from PortMiami and around 30 to 40 miles north of Santa Lucia, Cuba. The Icon of the Seas, which can accommodate over 5,000 guests and made its maiden voyage earlier this year, was halted after the incident as a search and rescue operation was conducted for around two hours.
