Two children lost their lives in a devastating crash in LaPorte County, Indiana. The incident occurred at the intersection of Joliet Road and CR 900 West on a sunny Saturday afternoon.

Details of the Collision

The crash involved a black 2002 Chevrolet Trailblazer pulling a U-Haul trailer and a red 2011 Ford F250 pickup truck. The Chevrolet was traveling south on CR 900 West, while the Ford was heading east on Joliet Road. Tragically, the Chevrolet failed to stop at the intersection, resulting in a collision with the Ford.

Among the passengers in the Chevrolet were an 11-year-old boy and a 4-year-old girl, both of whom lost their lives in the crash. The driver of the Chevrolet, identified as 41-year-old Luis De Leon Muniz, along with a 36-year-old woman and a 16-year-old girl, sustained upper body injuries and were rushed to the hospital. The 16-year-old girl had to be airlifted to a regional hospital for further treatment. All occupants of the Chevrolet were residents of Justice, Illinois.

The driver of the Ford, 47-year-old Casey L. Krivak from La Porte, also suffered upper body injuries and was taken to an area hospital for medical attention.
