Motorcyclist Killed in Apple Valley Collision
An Apple Valley resident, Robert Witt, 68, tragically lost his life in a motorcycle crash on Saturday morning. The incident occurred at the intersection of Standing Rock Avenue and Blackfoot Road in Apple Valley, California.
According to reports, Witt was riding his black 2011 Harley Davidson Road Glide westbound on Standing Rock Avenue when he collided with a white 2017 Honda Civic driven by Jennifer Garcia, 51, also from Apple Valley. Garcia was traveling northbound on Pine Ridge Avenue and crossing Standing Rock Avenue when the collision happened.
Tragically, despite the efforts of medical personnel, Witt succumbed to his injuries at the scene. Garcia, the driver of the Honda Civic, remained at the location and cooperated with the authorities during the investigation.
The San Bernardino County Sheriff’s Department Major Accident Investigative Team (M.A.I.T) arrived at the scene to conduct a thorough investigation. The intersection of Standing Rock Avenue and Blackfoot Road was closed for approximately three hours as deputies gathered evidence, reviewed video footage, and interviewed potential witnesses.
