A man was arrested in Greene County, Tennessee after a shooting that left Nathan Poe, 42, hospitalized with multiple gunshot wounds. Man Arrested After Shooting Incident in Greene County
A man was taken into custody after a shooting incident that occurred on Monday night in Greene County, Tennessee. The incident took place at a residence located in the 600 block of Bear Hollow Road in the northern part of the county.
Upon receiving a report of the shooting, deputies from the Greene County Sheriff’s Department (GCSD) immediately responded to the scene. They found a 42-year-old man named Nathan Poe who had sustained multiple gunshot wounds. Poe was swiftly airlifted to the Johnson City Medical Center for urgent medical attention.
As of the latest update on Tuesday morning, Nathan Poe remains in critical condition at the medical center. The GCSD revealed in a news release that the suspected shooter, identified as Claude “Junior” West, had fled the scene following the shooting on Bear Hollow Road.

However, deputies were able to locate and apprehend West in Hawkins County shortly after the incident. The 68-year-old suspect has since been charged with attempted first-degree murder and is currently being held at the Greene County Detention Center on a $400,000 bond.
West is scheduled to make a court appearance on Wednesday as the investigation into the shooting continues.
