In a heartbreaking turn of events, a tragic accident took the lives of two young children in LaPorte County, Indiana on Saturday afternoon. The incident occurred at an intersection in the county, where an 11-year-old boy and a 4-year-old girl lost their lives.

The accident took place at around 12:42 p.m. when a 2002 Chevy Trailblazer towing a U-haul trailer was traveling south on CR 900 West in LaPorte County. At the same time, a red 2011 Ford F250 pickup truck was heading east on Joliet Road. Unfortunately, the Chevy Trailblazer failed to obey a stop sign, resulting in a collision between the two vehicles.

Tragically, the two children were pronounced dead at the scene of the accident. The driver of the Chevy Trailblazer, identified as Luis DeLeon Muniz, 41, along with a 36-year-old woman and a 16-year-old girl who were also in the vehicle, sustained upper body injuries. The 16-year-old girl was airlifted to a regional hospital for further treatment.
