Tragic Shooting Claims Life of High School Graduate in Franklin
A devastating incident occurred over the weekend in Franklin, where a recent high school graduate lost her life in a tragic shooting. 18-year-old Lily Basil was fatally shot in the right shoulder with an AR-15 in the McKay’s Mill area on Saturday night. Despite being rushed to Vanderbilt Medical Center, she succumbed to her injuries.
Suspect Arrested in Connection with the Shooting
Following the shooting, 18-year-old Matthew Roufail was taken into custody by the authorities. Roufail confessed to the shooting but maintained that it was an accident. He has been charged with criminal homicide and was released from jail after posting a $150,000 bond.
