Noida: Noida Police have successfully traced the Audi car which was involved in a hit-and-run accident that tragically claimed the life of a senior citizen. The incident occurred in Sector 24, a bustling residential area in Noida. According to the authorities, the vehicle in question belongs to one Pramod Singh and was discovered parked in the NBCC building parking lot in Delhi’s Kidwai Nagar. Following the fatal collision with the victim, identified as Janak Dev, Singh fled the scene, prompting a widespread search operation to locate both him and the “white-coloured” car involved.

Intensive Investigation

Despite the presence of CCTV footage capturing the incident, the high-security number plate of the Audi had been tampered with, preventing the authorities from obtaining the vehicle’s registration details from the recording. Undeterred, law enforcement officers meticulously combed through footage from over 150 surveillance cameras and deployed seven specialized teams to scour the area for any leads. Their efforts eventually paid off when the Audi was discovered discreetly parked among other vehicles at a designated parking facility in Delhi.

Heartbreaking Footage

Footage from various CCTV cameras that surfaced online depicted the heart-wrenching moment when the elderly victim was struck by the speeding white Audi as it recklessly navigated the residential vicinity. The vehicle narrowly avoided colliding with two women out for a morning walk before tragically hitting Janak Dev, who was innocently walking along the roadside.

Swift Action

The incident transpired on a fateful Sunday morning, May 26, at approximately 6:30 am. Promptly informed of the tragic occurrence, the victim’s son, Pradeep, residing near Gijhor village, approached the local authorities to report his father’s untimely demise in the road accident. Subsequently, an FIR was lodged, initiating legal procedures inclusive of a post-mortem examination. Police officials assured swift action to apprehend the perpetrator and administer justice in the case.

Previous Incidents

Regrettably, this incident echoes a similar occurrence in Noida on May 16, where two individuals, including a nurse, lost their lives and three others sustained injuries after their e-rickshaw was struck by a minor driving a BMW. While two occupants of the BMW were apprehended, the third individual fled the scene. Authorities promptly filed an FIR, pledging to investigate the matter thoroughly.
