In a heartbreaking turn of events, four labourers lost their lives in a tragic accident that took place in Guna district, Madhya Pradesh. The incident occurred when a mini truck carrying the labourers overturned after the driver reportedly fell asleep at the wheel.
Details of the Accident
The driver’s drowsiness led to the truck crashing through the divider and plunging off a bridge on AB Road, near Miana. The truck was transporting six labourers, a driver, and a cleaner, all of whom were on their way to Karnataka. Among the victims were Vishnu, Mir, Vikas, and Ranjit, who tragically lost their lives in the accident.
Three of the labourers died on the spot, while one succumbed to his injuries during treatment. The injured individuals, including Shahrukh (the cleaner), Ashok (the driver), and Nawab, were rushed to the district hospital for medical care. Ashok, the driver, was later referred to Gwalior for further treatment.
Personal Accounts
Shahrukh, the cleaner, shared that the truck belonged to Raebareli and the group was en route from Fatehpur (Uttar Pradesh) to Shujalpur (Shajapur, Madhya Pradesh). The labourers had joined the journey from Kalpi (Jalaun, Uttar Pradesh) and were asleep when the tragic accident occurred.
The truck, carrying the labourers’ bikes, cooking equipment, clothes, and other essentials, was left scattered on the road following the crash. The families of the deceased have been notified and are en route to Guna to mourn the loss of their loved ones.
Authorities Respond
Miana Police Station in-charge Sanjit Mabai provided details about the incident, highlighting the devastating impact on the victims and their families. The authorities are conducting an investigation into the circumstances surrounding the accident to determine any possible negligence on the part of the driver.
