WALDORF, Md. – The serene town of Waldorf, Maryland was rattled by tragedy on Monday, May 27, 2024, when a fatal hit-and-run incident occurred on Maryland Route 5 (Leonardtown Road) in the vicinity of Lakewood Place.

At the break of dawn, at approximately 0546 hours, Maryland State Police La Plata Barrack received a distressing report of an individual found lifeless in the median of the roadway. The victim, later identified as Terry Anthony Dorch, a 54-year-old resident of Waldorf, was tragically pronounced dead at the scene. The discovery of car parts near the deceased person prompted the Maryland State Police CRASH Team to take charge of the investigation.
