Power Outage in Swabi District

In a recent development, a fault in the Right Bank Canal grid station has caused a suspension in electric supply to multiple areas of Swabi district from Saturday night till Sunday. This unexpected disruption left residents grappling with a sleepless night as they navigated through the inconvenience.

Night of Mosquito Bites

Javid Khan, a resident of Maneri Bala, and Asim Khan of Panjpir village shared their harrowing experiences of the night, highlighting how mosquitoes took advantage of the power blackout to relentlessly bite them, especially affecting the elderly and children in the area.

Impact on Affected Areas

The affected regions included Maneri, Karnal Sher Khan Kallay, Salim Khan, Gadoon Amazai, some colonies of Tarbela Dam, and various localities of Topi, Swabi, and Razaar tehsils. The forced load-shedding was a result of a broken double circuit of the 132KV line, compelling officials at the grid station to distribute the power load unevenly.

Efforts to Restore Power

Despite the challenges posed by the fault, a technical team promptly arrived at the grid station on Sunday morning to rectify the issue and restore the power supply to the affected areas. It is worth noting that the forced outage was managed by the grid station staff and not by the Peshawar Electric Supply Company as clarified by a Pesco official.
