Tragic Accident at Silver Lake State Park Sand Dunes
A tragic incident unfolded at Silver Lake State Park sand dunes in Golden Township, Oceana County, Michigan, on Sunday morning, resulting in the loss of 33-year-old Kadie Price from Pierson, Michigan. The Oceana County Sheriff’s Office reported that Kadie was struck and killed by a car while watching the drag strip action at the sand dunes.
The Incident
According to the official report, Kadie and her family had parked their vehicle to witness the excitement at the drag strip area of the Silver Lake State Park sand dunes. As they observed a Jeep CJ speeding north on the drag strip, tragedy struck. The Jeep lost control, veered off the strip towards the Price family’s vehicle, and ultimately struck Kadie. In a moment of immense bravery, Kadie managed to push her two-year-old daughter out of harm’s way before being hit.
Despite the efforts of passersby, park rangers, emergency responders, and law enforcement officials, Kadie Price succumbed to her injuries at the scene. The driver of the Jeep, a 64-year-old man from Michigan, is currently under investigation, and his identity has not been disclosed.
