Authorities in Massachusetts have revealed the identity of the suspect involved in a series of violent stabbings that occurred over the weekend. The individual responsible for the attacks has been named as 26-year-old Jared Rivera.

Rivera is currently receiving treatment at South Shore Hospital following a crash on Saturday that occurred after the stabbing incidents. Police reports indicate that Rivera went on a stabbing spree on the South Shore throughout the weekend, targeting multiple locations.
Incident at Braintree Movie Theater
The most notable of Rivera’s attacks took place inside the Braintree AMC Movie Theater. Lisa Dembowski, the mother of the victims, recounted the harrowing experience her daughters endured during the incident. Her 17-year-old twin daughters, along with a 9-year-old girl and a teenage friend, were seated in the theater when Rivera approached them from behind and launched a vicious attack.
According to Dembowski, the suspect was laughing maniacally throughout the assault. One girl was stabbed in the chest, another in the back, and the third sustained injuries to her arm. Fortunately, all the girls have been discharged from the hospital and are physically recovering at home. However, the psychological impact of the ordeal remains significant.
Immediate Response
Dembowski revealed that her eldest daughter sought help from the AMC management when the attack occurred, but they initially did not believe her account of the situation. As a result, she had to take matters into her own hands and call 911 for assistance. The swift actions of the victims may have prevented further harm.
Connection to Plymouth Stabbing
Additionally, Jared Rivera is facing charges in connection to a separate stabbing incident that occurred in Plymouth on the same day as the movie theater attack.
