Nine passengers lost their lives and 18 others were injured in three tragic accidents on the Thatta-Hyderabad section of the National Highway. In the most devastating incident, six labourers from Manik Behrani village were killed in a head-on collision between their Suzuki pickup and a dumper near Jherruck. The injured were rushed to hospitals in Hyderabad and Jherruck for treatment. The dumper driver attempted to flee but was apprehended by villagers. In another accident, a pickup and a high-roof vehicle carrying picnickers collided, resulting in one fatality. Additionally, a Vigo vehicle rear-ended a pickup, leading to injuries and one more casualty at Makli Civil Hospital.

Tragic Road Accidents Claim Nine Lives in Thatta

Tragedy struck the town of Thatta on Saturday morning as three separate road accidents on the Thatta-Hyderabad section of the National Highway resulted in the loss of nine lives and left 18 individuals injured, some critically. The incidents, which occurred in different locations along the highway, have sent shockwaves through the local community.

Deadly Collision Near Jherruck

The most fatal accident took place near the hilly town of Jherruck, where a Suzuki pickup carrying six labourers from Manik Behrani village collided head-on with a dumper. The labourers, who were on their way to work in the Kotri SITE area, tragically lost their lives in the collision. The deceased individuals, including Riaz Behrani, Jalal Behrani, and Irfan Behrani, have left behind a devastated community.

The injured survivors, among them Hassan, Munawar, and Arbab, were rushed to hospitals for treatment. The critically injured victims were immediately transported to Hyderabad for urgent medical care, while others received initial treatment at a local hospital in Jherruck.

Another Tragic Collision Near Ali Bahar

In a separate incident, a pickup and a high-roof vehicle carrying picnickers to Keenjhar Lake collided near Ali Bahar on the Thatta-Hyderabad section of the National Highway. The collision resulted in the tragic death of Arshad Ali Bangali, a resident of Orangi Town, Karachi, who was driving the high-roof vehicle. Four occupants of the pickup sustained injuries in the accident and were taken to nearby medical facilities for treatment.

Devastating Impact of the Third Accident

In a third heartbreaking incident, a Vigo vehicle collided with the back of a pickup, injuring Javed Jakhro, Khamiso Jakhro, and Ghulam Sarwar Khaskheli. Despite receiving medical attention at the Makli Civil Hospital, Ghulam Sarwar succumbed to his injuries, adding to the somber toll of lives lost in the series of accidents.

As the local authorities and emergency services work tirelessly to address the aftermath of these tragic events, the community of Thatta mourns the loss of their fellow residents and prays for the swift recovery of those injured.
