Eight individuals tragically lost their lives and 20 others were injured in a collision between a pickup and a dumper truck near Jhirk town of Thatta district. The victims, all belonging to the Behrani family, were on their way to Jamshoro when the accident occurred. Five men were pronounced dead upon arrival at Liaquat University Hospital in Hyderabad, with the remaining injured individuals admitted for treatment. The deceased were identified as Riad, Irfan, Qurban, and Soomar. The hospital’s Director of the Intensive Care Unit, Dr. Kashif Memon, confirmed that 20 injured individuals were received, with some requiring further treatment in Karachi. Thatta police have impounded the truck involved in the collision.

A devastating tragedy struck near Jhirk town of Thatta district in Hyderabad, as eight lives were lost and 20 others were injured in a horrific collision between a pickup truck and a dumper truck on Saturday.
The Unfortunate Incident
The victims, all belonging to the Behrani family, were on their way to Jamshoro when the accident occurred. The pickup they were travelling in collided with a dumper truck, resulting in a scene of chaos and despair.
The Aftermath
Following the collision, the victims were rushed to Liaquat University Hospital in Hyderabad. Tragically, five men were pronounced dead upon arrival, while the remaining injured individuals were admitted for treatment.
Identifying the Deceased
As the news of the accident spread, the community mourned the loss of four individuals: Riad, Irfan, Qurban, and Soomar. Their names now forever etched in the memories of their loved ones.
Medical Response
Dr. Kashif Memon, the Director of the Intensive Care Unit at the hospital, shared that a total of 20 injured individuals were received for treatment. Two of the most critical cases were transferred to Karachi for vascular surgery, while 14 others remained under the hospital’s care. Four individuals were fortunate enough to be discharged after receiving initial first aid.
Legal Action
Despite the gravity of the situation, the Thatta police have impounded the dumper truck involved in the accident. However, an official FIR detailing the incident has yet to be lodged, leaving many questions unanswered.
