A distress call reporting a blaze at a residence near the Bank of India in Krishna Nagar was received at 2.35 am. By the time the flames were finally extinguished at 7.20 am, the damage had already been done. The fire originated from a cluster of eleven two-wheelers in the stilt parking of the building before spreading to the first floor. The structure, comprising a ground (stilt) level and four floors, bore the brunt of the inferno.

Twelve individuals were successfully evacuated from the upper floors and swiftly transported to nearby hospitals for urgent medical attention. Sadly, the toll of the fire was already evident with two individuals losing their lives at GTB Hospital, while another was rushed to Max Hospital in critical condition.
