Collaboration with International Agencies
Dhaka Metropolitan Police’s Detective Branch chief, Mohammad Harun-or-Rashid, has revealed plans to collaborate with international agencies and local authorities in order to apprehend the fugitive mastermind, Akhtaruzzaman. It is believed that Akhtaruzzaman may have fled from Kathmandu to the US via Dubai following the commission of the crime. Rashid, along with a three-member DB team, has arrived in Kolkata to lead Bangladesh’s investigation into Anar’s murder. West Bengal CID authorities are conducting a search operation to locate the missing body parts of the Bangladeshi MP.

Suspicions have arisen regarding a possible motive for the crime, with reports indicating a dispute over gold smuggling between Anar and a US citizen, identified as his business partner. However, investigations are ongoing to ascertain the exact circumstances leading to the gruesome murder. Additionally, a Mumbai-based butcher has confessed to mutilating Anar’s body to conceal his identity.
