Deonte Bridges : 2 Arrested for Assault at Colorado Springs Gas Station

In a recent incident in Colorado Springs, two men have been accused of brutally assaulting a person at a convenience store in the south part of the city, resulting in severe injuries to the victim.

Police Response to the Assault

The incident took place at the Maverik located at South Nevada and Las Vegas Street. Police received a distress call around 8:45 on Saturday morning reporting an assault at the store. Upon arrival, authorities discovered that the victim had been attacked by two male suspects, causing significant bodily harm.

Search and Arrest of the Suspects

The assailants fled the scene before the police could arrive. A search ensued, leading officers to locate both suspects several blocks south of the Maverik, in the vicinity of South Nevada and Navajo Street. After positive identification, the suspects, named Deonte Bridges and Kristopher Jackson-Smith, were apprehended and taken into custody on felony assault charges.

Current Status of the Suspects

As of Sunday morning, both Deonte Bridges and Kristopher Jackson-Smith remain incarcerated at the El Paso County Jail. The investigation into the assault is ongoing, with authorities working to gather more information about the motive behind the attack and the extent of the victim’s injuries.
