Orlando Esiesa Tobar, 32, entered his plea on Friday, May 24, admitting to the heinous crimes of murder and aggravated kidnapping. The victim, Conzuelo “Nicole” Solorio-Romero, was forcibly taken from her home in Kearns in a chilling incident that shocked the community.

The Disturbing Details Unfold

According to court documents, Solorio-Romero was abducted from her residence by two armed men in February of 2021. Witnesses reported seeing her being forced into a vehicle against her will, sparking immediate concern. She was taken to a West Valley studio apartment, where witnesses observed her being interrogated at knifepoint by Tobar, who went by the alias “Chaparro.”

Solorio-Romero vehemently denied speaking with the police but confided in a witness that her husband’s death was not a suicide as previously believed. This revelation incited Tobar to declare that she “knew too much” and would not be allowed to leave the apartment alive.
