Wildwood Woman Arrested for Drug Possession at Green Light

A shocking incident unfolded in Wildwood, where a local woman found herself in hot water after being pulled over by deputies for a routine traffic violation. The woman, identified as 43-year-old Shauna Marie Chapman, was stopped at a green light near West Main Street and County Road 468 in her 2023 Hyundai Tuscon in the early hours of the morning.

According to an arrest report from the Lake County Sheriff’s Office, Chapman remained stationary at the green light for an unusually long period, catching the attention of a passing deputy. After finally accelerating onto State Road 44, Chapman’s erratic driving caught the deputy’s eye as she struggled to maintain her lane.

Erratic Driving Leads to Arrest

As Chapman’s speed climbed well above the posted limits, reaching a dangerous 82 mph in a 55-mph zone, the deputy decided to initiate a traffic stop. After pulling Chapman over, the deputy noticed several signs of impairment, including glossy eyes, slurred speech, and an inability to multitask.

During the interaction, Chapman handed the deputy a white container claiming it contained medical marijuana, but she was unable to produce a valid medical marijuana card. This raised suspicions, prompting the deputy to conduct a search of the vehicle.
