Police recovered the body of autorickshaw driver Shahadat Hossain from a paddy field in Parpara village, Jamalpur Sadar Upazila. The deceased, son of Jabed Ali, went missing after leaving home with his autorickshaw on Friday night. Locals found his body with multiple injuries in the field and informed the police. The body was sent for autopsy at Jamalpur General Hospital. The autorickshaw was also recovered, but the battery was missing. No case has been filed yet, but the police suspect robbery as the motive for the killing. The investigation is ongoing to determine the exact circumstances of the incident.

Authorities in Jamalpur were left shocked yesterday after the body of an autorickshaw driver was discovered in a paddy field in Parpara village of Kandua union. The deceased, identified as Shahadat Hossain, hailed from Pathalia village of Sharifpur union in the upazila.

Details of the Incident
According to reports from family members, Shahadat Hossain had left his home with his autorickshaw on Friday night but failed to return. Concerned locals stumbled upon his lifeless body the following morning in a paddy field in Parpara village. The authorities were promptly informed and arrived at the scene.
Investigation and Recovery
Upon arrival, the police recovered Shahadat Hossain’s body and transferred it to Jamalpur General Hospital for further examination. Additionally, his autorickshaw was retrieved from the scene, although the battery had been stolen. The investigating officer, Mohammad Mohabbat Kabir, noted that the victim had sustained several injury marks, indicating foul play.
Suspected Motive
Despite the presence of injury marks, no formal case has been filed regarding the incident. Officer-in-charge Kabir speculated that Shahadat Hossain may have been the target of robbers, leading to his untimely demise. The community is reeling from the tragic loss of a beloved member.
