Early on Saturday, a devastating incident unfolded on the Agra-Lucknow expressway in Etawah district, Uttar Pradesh. A sleeper bus carrying 42 passengers from Lucknow to Delhi caught fire after hitting a divider at channel number 118 in the Chaubiya area. The consequences were dire, with one man losing his life and 11 others sustaining injuries in the fiery accident.

The deceased, identified as bus driver Nasir Khan, 40, hailing from Tola Dholganj in Gorakhpur’s Mangalpur area, heroically managed to steer the bus to safety despite being severely injured in the process. Tragically, he succumbed to his injuries while receiving treatment at the trauma centre in Saifai.

Station officer of Jaswantnagar police station, Mansoor Ahmed, reported that the injured passengers were promptly shifted to the trauma centre for urgent medical attention.
