With no means to provide for her four children, including the newborn, Mormati took a heart-wrenching decision to sell her baby girl for a mere Rs 5,000 to a couple in Hezamara. The extreme poverty that gripped her life after the untimely demise of her husband pushed her to make this difficult choice.

Tragically, Mormati’s husband had taken his own life, leaving her to bear the burden of running the household and taking care of their children. Despite facing immense hardships, she had sought medical advice during her pregnancy, with the hope of aborting the fetus due to her dire situation. However, she was advised against it by a compassionate doctor who provided her with the necessary support and medication throughout her pregnancy.

After giving birth to her daughter, the weight of poverty proved to be too heavy for Mormati to bear, leading her to sell the baby to a couple who agreed to take her in. The news of this heart-wrenching act reached the authorities, prompting swift action to rescue the newborn and reunite her with her grieving mother.
