On November 18, 2023, the Greenstone OPP Detachment responded to a report of a deceased individual near Highway 11 in Long Lake 58 First Nation. The Ontario Provincial Police have charged a 31-year-old man from Edmonton in connection with the death investigation of Kathleen Desmoulin, a 41-year-old woman from Long Lake 58 First Nation. The suspect, Gurmeet Singh Brar, was charged with Failure to Stop at Accident Resulting in Death. With the help of Canadian Border Services Agency and Royal Canadian Mounted Police, Brar was arrested in Saskatchewan and brought back to Ontario for court appearance. The investigation is ongoing under the direction of the OPP Criminal Investigation Branch.

Man from Edmonton Charged in Connection with Death Investigation in Long Lake 58 First Nation
On November 18, 2023, the Greenstone OPP Detachment received a distressing call regarding a deceased individual found near Highway 11 in the beautiful and serene Long Lake 58 First Nation.
Details of the Investigation
The deceased was identified as Kathleen Desmoulin, a 41-year-old resident of Long Lake 58 First Nation. The tragic incident led to the issuance of an arrest warrant for Gurmeet Singh Brar, a 31-year-old man from Edmonton, Alberta.
