Police in Ranchi arrested two criminals, Samsher Ansari and Yaiyyab Ansari, for demanding Rs 10 lakhs from a woman advocate in the name of the extremist organization PLFI. The duo threatened to shoot the advocate if she failed to pay. The advocate lodged a complaint with the police outpost, stating that she received the demand on a PLFI letterhead via WhatsApp. Investigation revealed that the mobile number used for the demand was stolen by Samsher from Umesh Mahto during a motor accident. Samsher then gave the phone to Yaiyyab to intimidate the advocate. The criminals were sent to jail on Friday.
