Three Significant Arrests Made in Bee County
On the morning of May 13th, Bee County deputies were involved in three separate incidents that led to significant arrests. These incidents took place in different areas of the county, showcasing the hard work and dedication of law enforcement officers in Beeville and surrounding communities.
Arrest of Esmeralda Tapia in Tuleta
Deputy Juan Gallegos made a traffic stop in the early hours of the morning in the Tuleta area. During the stop, he encountered Esmeralda Tapia, a resident of Beeville. Suspicious of her involvement in criminal activities, Gallegos conducted a search of the vehicle, which led to the discovery of over $13,000 in currency believed to be connected to narcotics. Tapia was promptly arrested and charged with money laundering. Her bond was set at $5,000, and the investigation into the matter is ongoing.
Chase and Arrest of Robert Diaz near Minnesota Street
Later that same day, Deputy Gil Arizmendi attempted to stop a vehicle for a traffic violation on HWY 59 near Minnesota Street. The driver, identified as Robert Diaz from Three Rivers, refused to stop and instead fled on foot, eventually seeking refuge in CBS Grocery. A pursuit ensued, involving deputies and officers from the Beeville Police Department. Diaz was apprehended after a chase through several yards, during which he was tasered by a Beeville police officer. It was later discovered that Diaz had outstanding warrants from Live Oak County, further complicating his situation.
Incident Involving Anthony Arredondo in Blueberry Hill Subdivision
During a heavy rainstorm on the same day, deputies responded to a call about a male suspect ramming a truck into an 18-wheeler in the Blueberry Hill subdivision. The suspect, identified as Anthony Arredondo of Beeville, was allegedly under the influence and had caused damage to a family member’s vehicle before barricading himself in his residence. Despite the presence of a protective order, Arredondo refused to cooperate with law enforcement officers.

After a prolonged standoff, deputies were able to arrest Arredondo, who was charged with multiple offences including Criminal Mischief, Evading Arrest, and Violation of a Protective Order. The use of force was necessary to subdue Arredondo and bring him into custody. His bonds were set at $9,000, highlighting the severity of his actions.
These three incidents demonstrate the proactive approach taken by Bee County deputies in maintaining law and order within the community.
