According to witnesses, the victim, identified as Dimitri Coleman, 29, was enjoying his evening at a local restaurant/grill when a suspect approached him from behind, grabbing him by the neck before fatally shooting him multiple times. The suspect then fled down an alleyway, evading the multiple shots fired at him by onlookers.

As the Charleston Police Department delves into the investigation, Chief of Detectives, Lt. Tony Hazelett, expressed shock at the brutality of the attack.
