A woman from Apopka was apprehended for drug possession in a Circle K parking lot when a deputy recognized her and discovered meth in her handbag. The deputy noticed a blue Scion hatchback heading northbound near Lochmore Circle around 5:33 p.m. Wednesday. The vehicle had a significant crack in the windshield, and the driver was identified as 35-year-old Crystal Marie Moon from prior law enforcement encounters. Moon was then detained on charges of driving with a suspended or revoked license (for the second time), possession of drug paraphernalia, and two counts of methamphetamine possession. She was taken to Lake County Jail with a $4,500 bond.

The Incident at Circle K

An Apopka woman, Crystal Marie Moon, found herself in hot water when a deputy recognized her and discovered methamphetamine in her possession. The incident took place in the parking lot of a Circle K gas station, located at County Road 435 and Sorrento Avenue.

Details of the Arrest

The deputy first spotted a blue Scion hatchback traveling northbound near Lochmore Circle around 5:33 p.m. on Wednesday. The vehicle had a noticeable crack in the windshield, and the driver was identified as 35-year-old Crystal Marie Moon, who had encountered law enforcement on multiple occasions in the past.

Following this observation, the deputy initiated a traffic stop in the Circle K parking lot. Moon was asked to return to her vehicle after she had exited it upon seeing the deputy’s emergency lights. A check of her driver’s license revealed that it had been suspended since 2009, with a prior conviction for driving while license suspended or revoked.

Discovery of Methamphetamine

After Moon was removed from her vehicle and placed in the back of a patrol car, she informed the deputy that there was methamphetamine in her brown purse. She was read her rights and expressed her willingness to cooperate with the authorities.

Upon searching her purse, the deputy found a small plastic bag containing a white substance that tested positive for methamphetamine, along with a Ziploc package containing a green leafy substance that was identified as CBD. Additionally, a clear Ziploc bag with a white powdery substance was discovered under the driver’s seat during a vehicle inventory search.

Legal Consequences

As a result of the incident, Crystal Marie Moon was arrested on charges of driving while license suspended or revoked (second offense), possession of drug paraphernalia, and two counts of possession of methamphetamine. She was taken into custody and transported to Lake County Jail, with a bond set at $4,500.
