An eyewitness who was present at the scene recounted to Leadership Newspaper that the deceased was on his way home from work when the incident occurred. It all started when Anele accidentally collided with an okada man and his passenger. After ensuring the well-being of the accident victims, he decided to continue his journey back home in the Haj Estate when policemen suddenly arrived at the scene.

Following the incident, the Police Public Relations Officer in the FCT, SP Josephine Adeh, released a statement attributing the shooting to an “accidental discharge.” The tragic event took place in the Byazhin community in Kubwa, Abuja, around 9:45 pm on Wednesday.
