Sadly, Cummings was the victim of a shooting at North Jetty Park in Nokomis on May 19. The community has come together to support his family during this difficult time.

In a devastating turn of events, Franklin Roosevelt Raybon Jr., 22, of Port Charlotte, was arrested in connection to the shooting. According to a probable cause affidavit, the altercation between Cummings and Raybon at a party led to the fatal shooting. Raybon allegedly opened fire on the group after a dispute, resulting in Cummings being fatally wounded. The senseless act of violence has left the community in mourning and searching for answers.
