Three Arrested for Drug Trafficking and Illegal Firearm Possession on I-91 in Deerfield
In a recent incident on I-91 in Deerfield, Massachusetts, three individuals were arrested for drug trafficking and possession of an illegal firearm. The Massachusetts State Police were conducting traffic observation on I-91 North in Deerfield when they noticed a grey car with an unreadable rear registration tag. Upon conducting a traffic stop, they discovered that the driver, identified as 48-year-old Nicol Murano of Brattleboro, Vermont, had an inactive license. Subsequently, Murano was placed in handcuffs and placed in the police cruiser.
Further investigation revealed that the two passengers in the vehicle, 36-year-old Katie Beam of Brattleboro, Vermont, and 35-year-old Najee Robertson of Bridgeport, Conn., also did not have valid licenses. As a result, backup was called, and an inventory search of the vehicle was conducted before it was towed. During the search, troopers found 224 grams of crack cocaine and a disassembled 9mm Smith and Wesson handgun with a 16-round magazine hidden behind the driver’s seat. None of the occupants of the vehicle were licensed to carry a firearm.
Charges and Court Arraignment
Following the discovery of the drugs and firearm, Murano, Beam, and Robertson were all arrested and subsequently arraigned in Greenfield District Court. The charges they face include trafficking in cocaine, conspiracy to violate drug laws, possession of a firearm without an FID, possession of a firearm during a felony offense, and possession of a large capacity feeding device.

In addition to these charges, Murano faces additional charges of unlicensed operation of a motor vehicle and number plate violation. Robertson also faces an additional charge of firearm violation with one prior violent drug crime.
