A 40-year-old man was shot to death on Thursday after critically injuring a person and threatening to disarm a police officer who had come to arrest him. Elly Maate, the Kigezi Regional Police spokesman, identifies the deceased as Kenneth Mutusi, a resident of Nyakabengo Cell, Muhanga Town Council, Rukiga district. Mutusi was known as a hard-core criminal terrorizing the community by cutting people’s plantations, damaging houses, and assaulting neighbors. He was involved in a planned attack on Roset Kyarisima. Mutusi attacked Kyarisima with a sharp panga but was shot by the police when he tried to attack them. The police are conducting investigations into the matter.
