Detectives with the Lyon County Sheriff’s Office stopped a car in Dayton driven by 62-year-old James Weslow, with 59-year-old Penny Bettencourt as the passenger. A search of their residence in Silver Springs revealed even more methamphetamine and narcotics. Police recovered 2.1 pounds of methamphetamine, 11 pounds of marijuana, 42 grams of cocaine, drug paraphernalia, sales packaging material, and seven guns. Weslow and Bettencourt were arrested and booked into the Lyon County Jail on trafficking charges. Weslow’s bail is set at $229,895, while Bettencourt’s bail is set at $17,280.
