Multiple Auto Crash in Isheri Olofin, Lagos-Ibadan Expressway

No fewer than six unidentified passengers narrowly escaped death in a harrowing multiple auto crash that occurred on Wednesday, opposite the OPIC Estate community, in the bustling Isheri Olofin area along the Lagos-Ibadan Expressway. The accident involved four vehicles, including an unregistered diesel truck, a Yutong luxury bus with registration number KPP 921 ZW, and two Ford buses with registration numbers EPE 365 YD and KGW 13 XA.

Cause of the Crash

According to a police source who requested anonymity, the crash was triggered by the driver of the diesel truck, whose vehicle lost control while in motion. The truck swerved and collided with the other vehicles caught in a traffic jam on the busy expressway. Fortunately, all passengers managed to escape death, although two individuals sustained serious injuries and were rushed to the Lagos State Emergency Clinic at the Old Tollgate in Ojota for medical attention.

Police Response and Investigation

Upon receiving reports of the accident, the Ogun State Police Command swiftly responded, confirming that no lives were lost in the crash. Police officers in the area played a crucial role in rescuing the injured victims, who are now receiving treatment and showing signs of recovery. Efforts were made to clear the vehicles blocking the expressway and causing traffic congestion, allowing for a smoother flow of vehicles along the corridor.

Tragic Incident Before Wedding Introduction

Tragically, the recent auto crash in Isheri Olofin comes on the heels of another devastating incident where a promising young man named Esla Adams lost his life just days before his scheduled wedding introduction. Adams, a corps member and University of Jos alumnus, was involved in a fatal accident on the Akwanga-Lafia Road in Nasarawa State, leading to his untimely demise.
