Ontroy Campbell, 33, also known as ‘DJ Terry’, has been charged with murder after an incident in Whithorn, Westmoreland. Ontroy Campbell, 33, otherwise called ‘DJ Terry’, sound selector of Haughton Grove, Ramble, Hanover, has been charged with murder following an incident along the Mackfield main road in Whithorn, Westmoreland, on May 2.
The deceased has been identified as 43-year-old Dwayne Ottey, otherwise called ‘Sparrow’, a mechanic of Bethel Town also in the parish. Reports from the Savannna-la-Mar police are that about 9:15 p.m., citizens heard explosions and summoned them. On their arrival, Ottey was seen lying face down in a pool of blood with gunshot wounds to the upper body. He was transported to hospital where he was pronounced dead. An investigation was launched and Campbell was taken into custody and subsequently charged on Monday after an interview in the presence of his attorney.
His court date is being finalized.
