As the DEU operatives descended on Purok Camanchili, Padayao, who was the target of their operation, unexpectedly opened fire, sparking a harrowing exchange of gunfire. In the aftermath, Padayao was discovered slumped near the tranquil riverbank, succumbing to his injuries from the confrontation.

Transported to the Cebu South Medical Center, Padayao was pronounced dead, marking the end of a notorious figure in the local drug scene. A .45 caliber pistol and packs of suspected shabu, weighing 12.35 grams and valued at P83,980, were seized from the deceased’s possession.

Authorities revealed that Padayao had a dark history of violence, being implicated in a series of shooting incidents in the recent past. On February 22, he allegedly targeted Juan Estomago Ordiniza, a 63-year-old resident of Sitio Cabancalan 2, Barangay Bulacao, Talisay, in a brazen attack.

Just a couple of months later, on April 14, Padayao infamously took the life of a Grade 12 student in Barangay Inayagan, Naga City, in another senseless act of violence. The string of heinous crimes has left a trail of devastation in the community, with residents breathing a sigh of relief at the removal of this dangerous individual from their midst.
