The El Paso County Sheriff’s Office (ECPSO) has apprehended a man dubbed as a “prolific” mail thief after an extensive investigation into a year-long mail theft scheme. Adam Turner, 40, faces multiple felony charges in connection with the thefts that targeted the Meridian Ranch and Woodmen Hills neighborhoods in El Paso County. The investigation, spanning from January 2023 to May 2024, revealed Turner’s involvement in numerous thefts from community mailboxes in El Paso County and Parker, Colorado. Detectives uncovered a stash of stolen items at Turner’s residence, including mail, narcotics, cash, designer jewelry, luxury watches, license plates, firearms, and tools. Turner has been detained on 25 counts of money laundering, 25 counts of identity theft, and two counts of felony theft, with a $100,000 cash-only bond set for his release.

Adam Turner, a 40-year-old man, was arrested on multiple felony charges in connection with this operation.

Over the course of their investigation, which spanned from January 2023 to May 2024, detectives uncovered a trail of thefts from community mailboxes in El Paso County and Parker, Colorado. Turner came under suspicion after a victim provided crucial information to the authorities.

A Treasure Trove of Stolen Goods

Upon searching Turner’s home, detectives were astounded by the sheer volume of stolen goods they found. In addition to stolen mail and makeshift mailbox keys, they discovered narcotics, cash, designer jewelry, luxury timepieces, and a plethora of boxed merchandise. The haul also included stolen license plates, vehicle registrations, firearms, and an extensive collection of tools and toolboxes.

So vast was the number of items recovered that it took a rental moving truck, two vans, and four tow trucks to transport everything to the El Paso County Sheriff’s Office Evidence Facility.

Charges and Bail

Adam Turner now faces a laundry list of charges, including 25 counts of money laundering, 25 counts of identity theft, and two counts of felony theft. He is currently behind bars at the El Paso County Jail, with his bail set at a hefty $100,000 cash-only bond.
