SAN ANTONIO (KTSA News) — The quiet neighbourhood of Rosedale Park on the West Side of San Antonio was struck by tragedy on Tuesday evening when a 4-year-old child was hit and killed by a passing car.
KENS 5 reports that the child, identified as Zayden Alex Francis, was crossing the street for a second time near Rosedale Park around 6:30 p.m. when the accident occurred. The San Antonio Police Department responded swiftly, and the child was rushed to the hospital, but unfortunately, he later succumbed to his injuries.
The driver of the car did stop to render aid, but no charges are expected to be filed against them.
Investigators are still trying to piece together why the child was unsupervised while crossing the street. It is believed that Francis had been heading to a park near his apartment on the West Side to play when the tragic incident took place.
